The Company:

A leading design and build specialist in commercial real estate is embarking on an ambitious growth strategy and is launching a new Higher Education division. This is a rare opportunity to join a market-leading business and take ownership of a new, high-profile division.

The Role:

We are seeking a senior executive to lead the creation and growth of a Higher Education-focused business unit. Reporting directly to the company leadership team, the Managing Director will have full P&L responsibility and will be tasked with building the division from the ground up. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape a division, establish a strong market presence, and drive significant revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategy for the new Higher Education division.
  • Generate new business and build a robust pipeline within the sector.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across universities and institutions.
  • Navigate procurement processes and framework agreements.
  • Lead pitches, proposals, and client engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver successful design and build projects.
  • Recruit, build, and scale a high-performing team as the division grows.
  • Manage commercial performance and contribute to overall business growth.
The Candidate:
  • Proven experience selling into the Higher Education sector is essential.
  • Demonstrable track record of winning and delivering high-value projects within the Higher Education sector.  
  • Strong network across universities, estates teams, and procurement functions.
  • Solid understanding of frameworks and public sector procurement processes.
  • Background in design & build, fit-out, architecture, or a related sector preferred.
  • Commercially driven with a focus on revenue generation.
  • Capable of operating autonomously and building a business from the ground up.
